Unsupported video framerate

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

My TV is a Samsung UN40ES6100.

I keep getting error messages whenever I play some home movies on my Samsung TV. They play fine on my Samsung phone. Any suggestions?

What is the frame rate of this video? Plex media info

I assume this old TV cannot play HEVC-encoded videos. Which requires the server computer to be able to transcode from HEVC to AVC in real time. Is it stron enbough to do that?
Which type of CPU is built into your Plex server computer? (precise model number please)

VIDEO Framerate is 30.107 fps

Computer CPU is AMD A8 7600 3.1GHZ

This CPU is missing the necessary speed to transcode this file

Stay away from HEVC encoded video files, unless you get a different server machine with a drastically faster CPU.

I have a bunch of family videos in HEVC. Will a Chromecast or Firestick allow me to play these videos through Plex on my Samsung TV?

Maybe.
A Roku Ultra will (saw a refurb at Amazon recently for $68)
Poor shopping today, but here’s one for $75:

If you can get an HDMI cable from the server machine to the TV, you can drag one the Player Apps to the TV - they’ll play almost anything and - they’re free.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Is there a way to directly stream to the TV via DLNA? My TV does have Allshare DLNA.

Your TV does not support the HEVC video codec. So there is no use trying to stream the file over DLNA to it.

All you can do is to attach a device to the TV which can play HEVC encoded video.
Or replace the TV altogether.

Thank you for your follow up.

Could you recommend a low budget NAS with the ability to transcode, for around $150US? Used or refurbished is fine.

There is no NAS at this price point, which is any good and able to transcode HEVC.

You can get a nVidia Shield Tube for that money, which is at least a player which can play this kind of file.
You could set it up so, that it accesses your current NAS device over the network.

Would this PC work well as a PMS? Used price is $325 with monitor.

Dell XPS 8700 i7-4770 3.40GHz 8GB 2TB Windows 10 Desktop Computer Built In Wifi.

Sorry, no.
This one still has not enough power to transcode HEVC in realtime

What would be a minimum passmark score for just 1 or 2 users?
