I am running PMS on Windows Server 2016, which is still officially supported by MS until Jan 12, 2027.
Will I get problems, and if yes is it still supported?

Double check the version, but Server 2016 should be version 1607 (build 14393) which is the new minimum so still supported.
Confused on this as well. So I assume Windows Server 2012 R2 (Microsoft EOL Oct 10, 2023) will not run 1.32.0 64-bit next month but could run the 32-bit build?
@mrgreat Unfortunately that is incorrect. 1.32.0 will not support Windows Server 2012 on either the 32-bit or 64-bit versions. Although Windows has not ended support, Server 2012 is based on Windows 8 and as we will not support Windows 8, we cannot support Server 2012.
Okay, thank you sir/madam. I’m taking corrective actions to be in compliance.
I assume the public statements on https://support.plex.tv/articles/200375666-plex-media-server-requirements/ will be updated correctly in coming days.
Yes, that will be updated once 1.32.0 is released.
Does this mean if we are currently running Windows 2012 R2 and it auto updates then the plex server will stop working. Or does it mean it may carry on working fine but we cannot log and faults?
So just for clarification sake, if I update to 1.32.0.6918 while running Server 2012 R2 my Plex server will no longer function? If that’s the case can I continue to use the previous version or will I run in to issues? Is there a time frame I have to work with? Trying to see how long I have before I need to upgrade. Now to try to figure out how to obtain a legitimate copy of Server 2016… I miss being in college and having access to the MSDN and getting all those free licenses… ;(
This has been asked and answered. Don’t upgrade to 1.32.0+ or it will quit working. 1.31.3 will continue to work till it doesn’t. Probably around August when other services start using updated SSL.
Thank you for the reply! Found what I was looking for on that site that rhymes with penguin, will be upgrading very soon.
Thank you again and sorry I should have searched the forums better before asking, my apologies.
You should not be able to upgrade to 1.32.0. The installer should check what OS you have and tell you that your OS is too low and the installer will not run. The current install of PMS will continue to work, at least for now. Clients may update at some point in the future that requires a newer version of PMS.
