If you want insight, Dale & Kwiboo have produced, so far, 15 private beta builds of 0.6.0 (with one build for RPi1 B/+ and the other for RPi2 B). The beta team have been identifying issues as they add various improvements, we're all trying to make sure the next release is stable and doesn't introduce new bugs if possible. Unfortunately I can't provide any concrete release information...
all we want is an update from the dev's nothing more.
the no news is what's killing everyone. everyone knows how much better this will be with oe5.

OK, this must be a first for any Plex client!
Work is continuing on 0.6.x, we are making sure that all of the issues with 0.5.1 (which after all was a quick fix to get something compatible with the RPi2 out), so far we have merged with OpenELEC 5.0.6 and updated the firmware, work has completed on building in support for Hyperion and RemotePi Board, also fixed so far is the issue with FFMPEG AVIO, the Plex HT 'shift letter jump', how Rasplex deals with lost connections to PMS, passthrough of AAC5.1 files for capable receivers, fixing most of the issues reported here for 0.5.1, the only work left is to optimise for speed. Unfortunately, we wanted to get support for the HiFiBerry in this release too, but there are issues and this will have to wait for the next release.
Rest assured we are working as fast as we can to get a stable release out.

Do you know if it will be possible to update 0.5.1 to 0.6 saving our configuration (wifi passwords, Plex settings ...) ?
Updating remains to be seen. The current updater has a bug. I'm not sure if it's a bug from 0.4.1 to 0.5.1 or a bug in general that prevents any updates. It was briefly mentioned in another thread. I think it was the 0.5.1 discussion thread. Something to the effect that it was being worked on and looked into why updater is not functional...
Just because 0.5.1 was unstable (or perhaps my mSD card was), I have written down every setting, license, every tweak, XML file, Linux command and LIRC config option so that I can duplicate it again with 0.6.0 when I wipe the card and start over. It would be nice if somebody can confirm that from 0.6.0 onwards we will be able to auto-update again. Thanks.

Yeah that seems to be a bigger update than "just" 5.0.6 to 5.0.7 - but I would rather see that rasplex team focus on getting version 5.0.6 out.
If not I would be happy to wait long though :)
Also I noticed that openelec is released with latest kodi version just 1 day after the kodi release - that is impressive!
If rasplex would do that and have a fully automated updater it would be soooooo sweet :)

Airplay will not be enabled in 0.6, it is planned for the near future.
