Server Version#:1.30.0
Player Version#:via chrome and edge browser in pc and plex app on android
I had this problem on 2 previous updates but could install an older version of the server and it worked. now however i get only this message in the screen when i try to connect with plex
<Response code="503" title="Maintenance" status="Plex Media Server is currently running database migration."/>
[mod-edit: tagged the error message so it shows properly]
is there anyone out there with a solution for this. Ik like plex and really don’t want another system.

After an upgrade, your server will run certain tasks on the database. Sometimes this includes updates to the database itself. This can take a few seconds or minutes depending on how many items you’ve got in your library and the capability of your server’s CPU. I’ve seen a few situations where users with large libraries on a low-power NAS experienced their server being busy with those upgrades for several hours.
The “change” is that Plex is now showing this message instead of opening up the server right away. I think this is to avoid users attempting to do significant changes to their server while it’s busy upgrading the database as that could cause corruption (to the level of killing your server).
I suggest you give the server a moment to finish the job without interrupting it or rolling it back / upgrading it again. Not every server upgrade brings significant changes to the database but occasionally there are releases that do…
Ok, when this works, it will probable be a bit longer than a few minutes, the amount of disk space amounts to more than 30 terrabites on movies tv en music. I will check tomorrow if the server works again.
I wil let you know
Marco
Ps it show a different message now, PMS is currently running startup maintenance tasks.
so something is happening
am very happy this morning. As I suspected the huge amount of media files was going to take a long time, almost 11 hours “and a Server restart after”. many thanks to tom80H, *
