Updated Plex server not found fixed, but now new version on Win7 desktop server isn't visible to players

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#:Sony NU8000 and Android 7.9.0.8439

The above discussion just fixed the same issue for me after deleting the old registry settings (actually 3 of 4- there was no Home reg setting) but created another. I decided to try a paid month of Plex after demoing it ages and ages ago. The old version (1.9.whatever) was running on the computer but I installed the new version when the webserver told me to. I couldn’t connect to Plex or change settings from the Win7 box that was running it but I COULD connect to the old installation from my phone or TV. The old one didn’t have my new shares and had HORRIBLE buffering even locally (one second of video played then 6-7 seconds of buffering and repeat). Anyway, I found this thread about deleting old registry entries to be able to log into the Plex server on the desktop and that worked fine, so I added a new share entry into the Plex settings and tried accessing things from my TV (65" Sony NU8000 series if it matters). Well, all of the directories and movies I used to be able to see from the demo version that I’d installed ages ago and never really used are gone, and I now just see three options for viewing (Pictures, Movies, and something else, probably Music) and these are empty. The TV can see neither new nor old shares of anything, and my phone Plex app just spins and spins and finds nothing now.

The Plex server is on an i7 Win 7 box w/16 gigs RAM, a bunch of storage, and running Blue Iris for IP cameras as well. PIA VPN runs occasionally on the computer but the problem exists when it’s off. The local network has a Bell Fibe HH3000 with its wifi turned off and an Asus RT-N66U router set in the HH3000’s DMZ. The Asus does DHCP chores and handles wifi for everything. The TV is wired, not wifi, into a switch that’s plugged into the router.

It may have fixed itself, or more likely by things resetting and reloading over time. I tried Plex again today on the TV after not fiddling with it for a while and the TV app asked me to register the device (it had been registered before and played video), so after plugging in the PIN provided on the TV into the link provided it logged me into my updated Plex server with the new directories, proper picture thumbnails, etc. Only some stuff played ( other were marked unavailable when I clicked on the thumbnail), but the new directories were there, thumbnails were good, etc. I moved the USB drive containing the shared videos from the old router to the new one so more resetting and fiddling may be required to get it to recognize and play everything in its new place but things are gradually looking up. Best part is that it was playing 4k drone video smoothly on the 4k TV, which I was having trouble with even when playing them directly from my 4k Android box. Best case before was some jerkiness in playback.
