Player Version#: 3.77.4
A couple of months ago I updated PMS on RN214 and I kept getting “CPU not strong enough” errors. I ended up having to completely reset PMS on my RN214 to get the very first version. The version I’ve been using is so old but works perfectly with transcoding, remote access etc (so it must be possible). I’ve just had an email from Plex saying that I need to update otherwise I won’t be able to use the players on iOS, TV etc (which are my main places that I use PMS).
Has a recent update been given to work better on the RN214 or am I now at the stage where I can’t use Plex anymore? Does anyone have any work arounds/NAS suggestions that won’t break the bank too much.
Really sad this is the case. If anyone has the update for RN214 that was the last working one that might be useful as well (1.15.2).
Not the main focus of your question…
You will still be able to use Plex with the apps currently installed on your iOS / TVs – just not with future updates of those. So you might need to disable automatic updates for those apps (unless you find what you find that “sweet spot” between 1.15.2 and the version breaking things for you on that RN214).
Sorry to say I’m not familiar with those Netgear NAS, so I cannot be of much help as for the issues that model gave you.
