I’ve been running Plex for a while now on my Qnap TS-231, and I love it. I’ve noticed though that I’ve been running in to trouble with a few media formats (pretty sure my poor nas just doesn’t the the oomph to properly stream the files), generally, I’ve been using the ipad app to cast to my Chromecast.
I’m not looking for mind bending performance, but I would like to be able to play (or at least optimize for playing in a reasonable time span without dragging my NAS to a halt), what minimum system specs would you recommend? Do you think upgrading the Chromecast would make any difference? Where would you spend the money first?
