Upgraded computer parts and now remote access will not work

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#:

Upgraded mobo/cpu so my computer is considered a new device. Set everything back up with manual port forwarding as I did before but for some reason now it will not work. I did not see that I was supposed to back up all the server data before upgrading.

The modem firewall setting for the previous computer has been removed and a new one was created for this computer.

I press “retry” and it will show that it is accessible outside my network for maybe 10 seconds before showing that it isn’t working again.

Please let me know what I need to provide to be helped. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you actually tried accessing the server remotely. Sometimes, the settings will say not accessible but it will still work.

I’m getting the error “Video quality limited: a direct connection to the server is not available”.

The video will stream but for some reason is stuck at 320p 0.7 mbps.

Never had this error before and I was able to choose my video quality.

definitely sounds like a network issue. I hate to ask but after to changed the settings in your Modem, did you try power cycling it? Also, do you have a Router separate from your modem or is it one of the all-in-one modem/router units?

Hello,

Yes, the modem was rebooted. I have at&t fiber and it is an all in one unit, the pace 5268.

Try this thread.

I’ve tried everything on that article. I was hoping to find further help here as a last stop since I can’t find a customer service number or email. This has been frustrating me for a month now.

Everything was working fine before I upgraded my PC. The only thing was that the remote connection speed was slow, but I figured that was because of my 7 year old pc, which is why I upgraded.

I also don’t have any of the common problems listed on the article. If you know of more please let me know.

Sorry @peartea, I’m not that verse with the Network side of things. Hopefully, someone else can chime in but i have nothing else for you. It is very strange that by just changing your processor and MB that you are having these issues. I’m more of a hardware guy and hands-on so i try to help as much as I can with what I read and understand.

You’ve probably tried anything I can think of. But when I hear new motherboard and networking problems, I immediately think drivers. I’d double check that all the drivers associated with the motherboard are installed, as well as double checking the windows firewall to ensure that the port is being allowed. Additionally, I’d double check the IPv4 and make sure it’s actually static (although you’ve probably already done that since you noted you went through Plex’s troubleshooting article).

The only issue I’m having, I think, is with getting the port forwarding working. I did a clean windows install so all previous drivers were cleared and I used driver booster to update. I went through the system info and manually updated everything that way too just in case.

When I press “retry” on the remote access page, it will change to working for 5-10 sec then change back to not working.

I’ve tried disabling all firewalls too so I’m pretty sure that’s not the issue.

Wow so my whole area had a outage after some road reconstruction and now my server is working. Don’t know what was wrong, but I’m assuming it was something on my ISP’s side.
