Upgraded to 1.7.5.4035 and now plex transcodes everything down to stereo

I’ve been happily running the Linux media server for several months and just recently it nagged me to upgrade to version 1.7.5.4035. However, now it transcodes everything down to stereo (for my Amazon Fire TV). How can I get back the previous transcoding behaviour which worked fine? Alternatively, is there a working downgrade path? Thanks in advance?

Ah. It might be possible that it is transcoding my DTS audio to AC3 instead, as my amp can’t play that (so plays stereo instead).

What version of Plex client is on your AFTV?

Plex client v6.2.1 outputs PCM 2.0 for AC3 and DTS on an AFTV Gen2.

With an AVTV Gen 2, Status -> Now Playing shows Direct Play, but the box sends PCM 2.0 to connected devices (to a receiver connected via HDMI).

There’s a long thread in the Android TV & Amazon Fire TV area: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/221784/skipping-audio-on-fire-tv-4k-box

The thread started regarding issues with DTS audio and AFTV devices. With the release of 6.2.1, it morphed into the discussion that all audio is now PCM 2.0.

To save you some reading, there is no known workaround for v6.2.1 & PCM 2.0. The problem seems tied to the client, as people running different PMS versions report the same problem.
