Hi, I’m having problems upgrading my TV tuner. Under settings, Live TV & DVR I deleted my old tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-dual HD). I then swapped the old device out and replaced it with the new device (Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD). I went back in to settings, Live TV & DVR and clicked on SET UP PLEX DVR. It shows 2 devices both identify as Hauppage WinTV-quadHD. Note: From what I found on the PLEX site is says it show up as 2 Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD devices. I also get an exclamation sign after each device which indicates “This tuner isn’t officially supported by PLEX, click for more information”. If I click for more information it talks about compatible tuners and does list the Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD as an officially supported device. I then select either device, click on continue, which in the upper left corner says Unsupported Tuner, leaving the only option to click on ENABLE UNSUPPORTED TUNER which I do. This takes me to the DVR Setup screen to SCAN CHANNELS. After scanning the channels it does not find any. If I try to go back to my old device it no longer finds channels. Both device actually work fine when tested when plugged into a PC running the Hauppauge WinTV version 10 application. I also tested the antenna plugged into a tv to make sure it was okay. So I know both my tuners and antenna work fine but not when connected to my plexmediaserver. How do I remove any old WinTV information from PLEX so I can get a clean start? I do not want to remove anything other than tuner or dvr related information.
There are 2 section of the plex tuner service log here. The first section looks like it is recognizing my new quad tuners, but the second section is showing some failures to make a compound device. Not sure where to look for information on the actual channels it is scanning.
