Upgrading Plex Media Server on MAC OS

Roku App has apparently been updated, says I need Server version 1.10.0 or higher to connect. Went to my server settings and the update button is dimmed out and won’t do anything. So much for date night…

You download from here https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-media-server and install manually.

Thanks, that worked. The update version button works now BTW although of course not needed (now)

I’m running the Plex server on two computers. One is a Imac desktop. No problems with that. The other is a MacBook Pro with macOS Mojave ver 10.14.1. My present Plex version on the MacBook is a old one; version 0.9.11.1. I have not been able to update this version from day one, as I always get the same error. My Imac has the latest version. I’m trying to run Plex from my Roku Streaming Stick; it won’t recognize my MacBook Pro with this version of the Plex server. I went to the site that was suggested; downloaded the file; unzipped it; it then gives me a “Plex Media Server App”. I ran the app; it asked me if I wanted to move it to my application folder; I said yes; it than opened my Plex page where it indicated that a upgrade to the server is required. I attempted to do that upgrade ( why it was asking to do an upgrade is beyond me, as I thought I just downloaded the latest upgrade and installed it!). The attempt to upgrade failed. Get a error message that there was a update problem. Just going around in circles here! Please, someone point me in the right direction!

How old is the Mac Pro?
What OS have you installed on the Mac Pro?

MacBook Pro with macOS Mojave ver 10.14.1. I believe it was purchased new in 2011

I would suggest update Mac pro 10.14.2 and following the instructions below.

The Library you will be looking for is in go menu. Hold down the option key and Library will appear.

When uninstalled go to Plex.tv and download the Macos installer and try again.

Thanks for your help. Updating my MacBook Pro to the newest version did the trick. My Plex server is now the latest and the Roku stick is working perfect. Thanks again.
