When setting up users to to see libraries as per this page:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204232573-restricting-the-shares/
There is a tip near the bottom of the page that says:
Blockquote Tip! : If you specify particular ratings, then content matching the chosen Labels will be shared in addition to the ratings. If you have no ratings specified, then only content matching the Labels will be shared.
This works. If I share all movies with a rating of “G” for example with a shared user then want to make an occasional exception to this I can add a custom label to that content item that matches the user settings. I did this for the movie “Planes” for example. It is rated PG. I have a restriction set up for my 8 year old so he only sees movies rated “G”. However, I want him to be able to access “Planes”. I can do this by changing the rating (which I don’t want to do) or by adding a custom label. Works great! I can allow my son to access movies that are not within his rating, but the label will allow it.
What about in reverse though? What if I want him to see all G-rated content EXCEPT for certain titles? Is there a way to restrict that way? I have a DVD that is a hardcore science movie documentary. It is really G-rated, but if I don’t want him to access that without manually changing the producer’s rating, how can I limit that specific title?
This is the screenshot from that setting in the user settings:
It’s almost like there should be an extra line that says “Restrict anything with this label:” if that makes sense.
Thanks in advance!
