My friend’s username shows up as “Username is already taken”. I saw other people facing the same issue, and was resolved my mods unlocking the username. Can that be done for my friend too? I’ll PM the username to the mods. @Ottokerner @anon18523487
A username cannot be unlocked. If a plex account already exists with this username, then this username cannot be used by other people. Plex usernames have to be unique.
What also can happen, is that your friend deleted his/her account and is now trying to create a new one, using the same username or the same email address.
Both won’t work.
If a user is deleting his/her account, it is warned that the username and the email address cannot be used for 30 days.
I can try and get the old, deleted account restored – if that’s what happened.
