Using iTunes metadati (cover, nome, genre) of MP4 movie into Plex

Hi all.
I have an Apple TV (old generation) on my TV. I use it for watching movies and TV series. By the way, I use Plex for watching movies and TV series on my iPads and iPhone. For using AppleTV i have to put all movies into iTunes db, and set manually tags (title, cover, genre). Sometimes I use personal tags for finding them better on AppleTV (that has a limited number of charter in list view).
Can I sync them with Plex db? Better, how can I make Plex does not browse on web for metatag and bring iTunes one?
I’ve tried to put Agent on personal media: in this case Plex brings some metadata (but I think it uses title file, not title tag on iTunes) but it seems impossible to force it to show cover.
Can I have an help? Tnx in advance

PS: iTunes for Mac on OS X 10.11, Plex on a Asustor NAS, everything updated.

Hi Andy, tnx for answer. Install PlexConnect is an idea, but I don’t like unofficial App.
By the way, I like “my” way to rename files on iTunes.

Let me explain better: bring an example of the movie “Despicable Me”, in italy “Cattivissimo me”

We have three movies called “Cattivissimo me” (“Despicable Me”), “Cattivissimo me 2” (“Despicable Me 2”) and “Minions”.
I prefere to rename them as

  • Cattivissimo Me 1
  • Cattivissimo Me 2
  • Cattivissimo Me 3 Minions

and then add some short movies like

  • Cattivissimo Me XMas (short)
  • Cattivissimo Me Puppy (short)
  • Cattivissimo Me Minions Madness (short)
  • Cattivissimo Me Minions Competition (short)

So I can see them on AppleTV

  • Cattivissimo Me 1 HD
  • Cattivissimo Me 2 HD
  • Cattivissimo Me Minions Competition
  • Cattivissimo Me Minions Madness
  • Cattivissimo Me Minions
  • Cattivissimo Me Puppy
  • Cattivissimo Me XMas

I know that in some Minions short movies there is no “Cattivissimo Me” prefix, but I need it because I have a lot of movies and a little child, so browsing them in Apple tv is more easily if I called them all with “Cattivissimo Me” prefix.
I want to maintain my tiles (that are in iTunes tags) and the cover (always in iTunes tags).
Can Plex maintain the iTunes order with “my” tags, instead of imdb tags (with cover)?
