Using old plex server as a back up server (Or second server)

Good day my fellow plexers.

I have an old plex server and I want to make it into a second or back up plex server.

Background:

I have an i5 Mac mini that was my plex server for years. I have now moved to an i7 Mac mini and I used the following document to move over to the new machine: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/

Everything worked great and the new sever is up and running perfect.

What I wan to do now since Plex is on that computer with the database etc I already made is to make the old server my second plex server without starting from scratch.

I tried just changing the name and bringing it up but it then bumps out my new server and takes over.

Is there a setting in the Plist file or some place else I can wipe or change that will make it look like its a new server without having to wipe all the library data and totally starting from scratch?

Thank you.

Sorry I mean: “What I want to do now since Plex is on the old computer with the database etc I already made, is to make the old server my second plex server without starting from scratch.”

That is absolutely do-able.
Where is your media?
I have 3 servers and have had as many as 7 !!
I have servers on Synology NAS’s, Drobo 5N, Shield Pro’s, and several PC’s
The Shield and PC’s pointing to the NAS’s media . The Synology NAS and Drobo pointing to themselves.
I regularly copy the db file to other servers to keep all my watched and unwatched shows. (except to the Shields)

Thank you spikemixture

All the media is on my NAS box, nothing on my Mac’s but the Plex application and associated data.

Some of the stuff (Like movie covers etc) I did by hand so I was hoping I could keep the old server and just figure how I could add it to my plex account without having to wipe it since it has most everything already in place.

Just add the new one with a new name and it should pop up in your Plex /server /options area
