Hi All,
I am also looking to move my existing and properly functioning PMS onto a Google Wifi with a Double NAT scenario. That said, I’ve encountered difficulties getting port forwarding to work on both networking devices. I’m hoping someone on here can provides some guidance.
Some background:
Current setup has my PMS networked on the unfortunately necessary “Verizon Fios Quantum Gateway G1100” .I’m forced to use (and pay to rent) this monstrosity because of it’s internet over coax (MoCA) that provides data, PMGs, VOD, etc. for cable boxes that certain members of my household refuse let me replace. Some people can’t live with out Pay-Per-View!
When I first setup my PMS on this device Remote Access was very spotty and required manual port forwarding to be setup in my G1100. This was an arduous task as the port foreordaining setting on a G1100 are quite difficult find and configure. However after some help from this forum, I was able to set them:

In this setup, everything for Remote Access works like a charm…
Now enter Google Wifi and double NAT. This is where I’m hoping someone can give me some guidance. What I’d like to do (and have tried and failed to get to work) is to connect a Ethernet switch to the primary Google node and move all my wired connections from the G1100 to the google.
I already did this yesterday but all my port forwarding attempts ended with Plex indicting my PMS was “Fully accessible outside your network” for about 45 seconds then coming to a stop.
I think I did everything correct on the Google Wifi side, but it’s the Fios G1100 I think I’m not getting:
-
Found PMS on Google Wifi App and gave it a static IP
-
Setup port forwarding in Google Wifi
-
In Google app and located the WAN address of the Primary point (where everything is hardwired to) and identified the WAP IP (192.168.1.234)
Now on the G1100 side is where I’m unsure how to proceed. Since I orionally set up port forwarding, then interface has changed and, if possible, if more confusing. Here’s where I’m landing:
I’ve tried putting “32400” everywhere and in almost every configuration I can think of. No luck with Remote Access. that last longer then a few seconds.
Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I should proceed here? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any assistance would be much appreciated!
