Using Record All Episodes, DVR Just Records the First One

I paid for a month of Plex Pass to see if it worked well enough to invest in a lifetime subscription. It has been kind of wonky,

If am using a Windows 10 PC with a 3.3ghz processor. I have a WinTV-Dual HD tuner. I have it set to delete commercials which often does not work, but that is not my main complaint.

When I set the DVR to record a series, it only records the first episode of each show. The second and subsequent episodes drop off even if the channel is showing back to back episodes off the same show. I set the DVR to record “All Episodes” and “New And Repeat Episodes.” It then shows the “Record Series” red bar and three white dots on all coming episodes but only records the first one and the record symbols disappear on the remaining episodes.

Any help would be appreciated. I really want Plex to work, as it could be a great all in one TV experience.

Would need to look at the Plex Media Server log files to see why the other episodes are not recording. Settings / Server / Help / Download Logs link.

More information about what specifically would also be good. Just a quick look through the logs you provided I see some shows that are scheduling to record but a lot of the other episodes aren’t because you apparently have New Airings only selected and not the New and Repeat Airings.

From what I see it appears Plex is doing what you have asked based on the recording settings.

Knowing specifically what shows you are looking for that are not being scheduled would help oin searching the logs. This is not a complete list just what I could quickly find starting at the bottom of the logs you provided.

That’s strange because I am definitely selecting new and repeat airings. I have attached a few pictures to indicate what I am selecting in yellow. The last two are me exiting the TV show listing and then going back in and the recording tags are gone. I would have just attached a short video but the website does not allow the format.

Sorry that they do not come up in order but it starts with “All Shows” screen, the TV program screen, me hitting record, then the recording options where in yellow I choose All episodes and new and repeat airings. I then back back lout to the All Shows screen, go back in to the TV program (Alice) and the red record tags are gone again.

As I mentioned to your first post, would need to see logs showing what Plex is doing when scheduling the recordings. Also having a difficult time making out what you are showing in the images. Perhaps try to capture images on a computer using Plex Web so you can use a screen capture tool to grab screenshots instead of a picture from what looks like about 6+ feet from the TV.
