Ver 5.44.5, Broken Subtitle (partially), just tested again

Server Version#: 1.27.0.5897 (same happened at 1.28.0.5999)
Player Version#: 5.44.5 (platform 5)

My tv is Samsung QLED 2019 (Q85 series). (sorry, i don’t know which Tizen included)
This issue happened when I play specific video.
In my case, when I play the HEVC(main 10, 1080p, audio aac) video with SRT subtitles(made of UTF-8, Korean) through Tv, It happened. I tested some cases,

Play at Samsung tv, play info

  • Play : Direct play
  • Subtitle : app renderer
    → It play well and can load subtitle, but specific line of subtitles is broken.
    (not whole, just some part. srt, smi all format happened)
    When I play same video with same SRT sub through PC or iPad or iPhone, It isn’t broken.
    → I think subtitle is not problem. I changed subtitle but same result.
  • Play : Transcoding
  • Subtitle : server renderer
    → No Problem
    → I think the apprenderer of samsung plex tv app is cause of my issue…

It’s the same symptom. Both 82nu8000 and 65mu8500 models have the same symptoms after plex 5.44.5 update.
All video file subtitles are broken continuously. I can transcode, but the server specification is low, so I can’t do that. Please provide a download link to ver 5.41.

Hello, I attatched log & srt file. Is it enough to find out what’s wrong?
I thought this issue happening when specific video & sub,
but I realize almost every subs(srt or smi, with any video) are broken…

Yes, I have enough to work with. I have a fix, just need to get it tested.

but, somthing else occured… :sob:
About 10-12min after playing, the subtitle disappeared. (not broken, just no subtitle)
If I stop video and play again(or move forward or backward litttle bit), It become normal.
Can you check it?

There’s a thread regarding this… hopefully it will be fixed soon, 'cause it’s really annoying.

I have the exact same problem. Subtitles are fine but after a while it dissapears, this always happen when the episode is about to finish (10 to 5 min left to finish).
Tested with a couple of different tv shows. All the same problem. I’m on the last version 5.44.6

Sounds like a recent updated triggered something with the apprender and external subs…plenty of people complaining since 5.44.3.
I’m on 5.44.6 but still having problems with subtitles fading out in the middle of the movie but as mentioned above it usually happens way more by the end.
