I previously had Plex Server working great with Verizon Fios. I could connect with my Android phone and stream through Plex. I then installed an Orbi mesh network and am now having problems. I can no longer stream to my Android phone when I am “on the road”.
The Orbi network is installed as an Access Point per the Verizon Fios instructions (didn’t work until I did this)… The computer that is the Plex Server is connected to the Orbi Network.
If I am home, and on the Wifi, I can stream to my android phone. However, if I am away from home, I get the error that my plex server is not available. Also, in the Plex server setup, under remote access, I get the message “Not available outside your network”. I have tried disable and re-enable remote access and that doesn’t work. I have also tried “manually specify public port” and that doesn’t work either.
Even more odd to me is that if I am away from home and on a wired computer, then I CAN stream plex. I just can’t stream from my Android phone.
I would really appreciate some help on what I need to do to get this working again.
