Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527
Player Version#: Two FireTV sticks and Bravia Plex App, since it’s happening on multiple players it makes me think it’s with the server
I’ve looked through the logs, but nothing has really stood out to me as being an issue.
Okay, so around every 30 minutes the video/audio stream freezes, but the time continues to increment and subtitles continue to play. If I back out of the video and immediately attempt to restart then I get an error saying I need to restart the player and server. If I wait about 30 seconds then I can play again and it’ll work. I’ve attached the log file. Should be somewhere within the last 5 minutes of the end of that log file when it happened. My local subnet is 192.168.1.0/24. Also, remote users haven’t reported any issues. Oh yeah, and I wasn’t transcoding, it was direct stream. I also performed a continuous ping to the NAS when it happened and I didn’t have any packet loss.
I did not. Recently changed to a 10gb NIC instead of using my 1gb onboard. I attempted to change back this morning, but even though the internet was working Plex wouldn’t connect. This was after a reboot as well. I went back to the 10gb NIC again and it immediately reconnected, but in assuming the freezing continued. I also got a report that someone streamed last night and didn’t experience any freezing at all, so it does appear to be only for local.
I rolled back a version and so far, no issue on my end yet. None of my friends had mentioned anything in regards to the freezing issue. Could be my internet. I hope that’s not the case. Good luck to you man.
It’s a bug in the current release version for Android (7.29.2.16071). I just installed a Beta (7.30.0.16218) on my FireTVs and it seems to be resolved, although in the Beta forum someone is reporting it with the latest version again.
I deleted cache and data on the apps and the freezing continues. Still using 7.29. also, this only happens with direct stream, if I force it to transcode then there aren’t any streaming issues.
