Video content from other media libraries showing up in Movies library

Version 4.138.0

I have created two libraries, one with adult content and the other for movies. During media scans it displays video files from the adult content area, Even when I remove the adult library and rename the folder (not adding the library back) it somehow finds the file and allows it to be displayed and played.

I’ve selected the adult media library to not show up in the home screen and global search, but it still shows as the last video played and in the movies library. The only way to remove the video is to delete it. How it knows the location of the renamed folder is a mystery and why it plays anything from a folder not within a plex library is another.

While this is adult in nature for me, it also does the same thing for regular videos. Choosing personal videos doesn’t change the result. The video can be anything (container type), and the library name can also be anything. Once you add it to Plex, without deleting the file it stays available.

The videos reside on a Synology NAS and are mapped to a Windows drive letter.

Odds are its a nested library, go to your main library edit it and post a screenshot of the add folders window.

It’s not nested.

It certainly is. You have pointed Plex to the overall video folder, when you should have pointed it only to the video/movies subfolder.

This is why I asked for photos, as @OttoKerner said, your libraries are nested, and do not follow the recommended file structure.

oof… What a dumb ass
