Video is often loading on a pretty decent mac

I just bought a new iMac.
It’s a pretty decent computer but despite that when I play locally my movies I often have the video loading, thing is pretty annoying. I love PLEX but due to this I often have to use VLC to play movies.
Do you know how can I find where the problem is?

Start by downloading a Plex client for playback instead of using the web browser.

Plex for Mac

Plex Media Player

I tried to install both… they looks exaclty the same.
What is the difference?

Plex for Mac is meant for the desktop environment while Plex Media Player is for HTPCs (connecting a computer to a TV and using a remote control for a home theater experience).

If you’re just watching on your iMac, Plex for Mac should be fine though it’s relatively new and there are a few bugs.

Most Plex clients look very similar now, it’s been one of Plex’s primary efforts for the past year+.

Our 1.3 version improved our player configuration. Would you mind letting me know if you see an improvement? There may not be a massive one seeing as you indicated PMP also has the same behavior. What sort of movies are you playing? Are they stored on the same machine or remote? If remote, are you playing over the internet, wifi, lan?

Thanks
