Video playback stuttering

I run plex server on raspberry pi 3B+

Video playback started to stutter after some of previous updates to PMP

If I play the video on PMP Windows app (which is unfortunatelly discontinued) there is no issue with playback.
Looking at playback setting seems they are the same or both PMP and PMP Windows app.
Only thing that’s different is probably media player embedded in these apps.

Is there anything I can do to to remedy the playback stuttering issue on PMP?

With a pi your best shot is to avoid transcoding of videos at all cost.
You can check how a file is being streamed in Plex Dash or the server dashboard (Plex Web → Now Playing) to see if there’s transcoding involved and attempt to circumvent that.

I’m not exactly sure what apps you’re referring to. Admittedly it’s quite a jungle of different player options ranging from PMP, Plex for Windows to Plex HTPC – and apparently your initial post mentioned the Windows app store version of Plex.

I wasnt able to see if videos are transcoding in Plex dash app.

In the meantime I tried playing also on Plex webapp and Plex for Android, and there are also no issues.

So this happens just on PMP desktop player for some reason.
