Video Playlist Broke after latest update

I woke up this morning and tried to put on a playlist and I saw that the UI looked a bit weird:

I said okay whatever. And I was able to play the playlist fine. BUT… when the video ended. It never went to the next one. This is broken.

I have tried on 2 different Fire TVs in separate rooms. Both on this same version.

I also tried with a different show and saw the same issue occur.

  1. UI/UX looks wonky
  2. The video plays fine but does not go to the next automatically after it ends.

Just rolled back to 10.26.0.2578 (6cc7ea1a) and everything works perfectly fine again and the playlist UI is back to normal.

I’m having the same issue. How do you rollback an app on FireTV? Did you have to install an apk or is there an easy go-back method?

Make sure to watch a YouTube video on it. It’s a lot of steps.

General Gist:

  • Go to Device Settings > Press up or down (can’t remember at the moment) 7 times to enable developer mode.
  • Click Developer Mode option and allow 3rd party installs
  • Turn off Automatic Updates so the app won’t update.
  • Uninstall Plex
  • Download Downloader from Amazon AppStore
  • There’s a few options to download, I used the FireTV app on iOS to remote.
  • I copied the link on my phone and pasted it into downloader address bar through the Fire TV iOS app and installed Plex.

Yeah, the update broke a huge amount of basic things…
