Is there a way to create a video playlist to specify Trailers and Movies? I want to host a movie night, and shave specific trailers play before the movie in a seamless manner (no jumping around the UI to pick trailers and then the movie).
I can’t find a way to do this: Features seem ignored from the Playlist tool. But hopefully I’m just missing it, new to Plex.
You can only specify specific trailers if you have them downloaded to your server and in a Plex Movie Library. Then you could add them to a Playlist, followed by your movie.
That’s my situation. How do I add trailers to a playlist? The “Add to Playlist” is only available for the Movie. For trailers, which are in the “Extras” category of the movie, I can’t find a way to add them to the playlist.
Plex has no way to do that. The trailers would have to be independent of the movie, either in a library of their own, or listed alongside the movies as if they were separate movies.
Thanks. Is there a recommended way to set up a “Library” of trailers? I created a “Demo” library based on “Home Media” to hold demo clips that otherwise can’t be categorized as normal films.
I don’t think there’s a recommended way. Whatever works. I think I did something pretty similar to what you just described. I don’t use Plex for movies much, though. I’m more in it for music and photography.
