Video stopping every 20 seconds or so.
Hi everyone… sorry if this is in the wrong place… please can an admin direct the post to the correct place.
I have been using Plex for years and years. Can’t say I have had many issues with it, it’s generally been plain sailing or it’s been an issue my end… anyways, I digress.
Around a month ago my videos started to lag, pause and generally not behave. I RDP to my Server 2012 R2 install and saw Plex Transcoder / Plex Media Service scoffing all of my processor. I know it’s not a great spec machine i3 1.8ghz with 6GB ram but it’s never been an issue before. It seemed to be file specific where some files would cause it others not. I initially assumed some of my files were corrupt from copying from location to location a thousand times (like 2 or 3) but I ruled that out by re-ripping the files direct from the disk. I have had 2gb MKVs and also 550mb. Both act the same.
I really need help with this, I have messed round with the transcoding settings but nothing seems to help.
Happy to provide any logs or information as I am now spending more time trying to fix Plex than it works.
