VIDEO_TS Movies Don't Show in Library

Server Version#: 1.16.6.1559

New to Plex and trying to move all my video into Plex. When I add movies ripped from DVDs (I own) they don’t show up in a library scan. I tried the .dvdmedia file with and without the date of the movie added, I tried taking the package content and putting it in a folder, nothing works. The one movie it did see it misnamed it and expanded it into several wrong movies in the library listing.

Are .dvdmedia type videos just not supported?

Those formats are not supported, per this support article:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201426506-why-are-iso-video-ts-and-other-disk-image-formats-not-supported/

You’ll need to rip your DVDs/Blu Rays using a third-party tool such as MakeMKV which will produce a .mkv file supported by Plex. If further processing is needed after, you can use a tool such as Handbrake to change the container, codecs, resolutions, etc…

Thanks that is what I was looking for, I did a bunch of searches but not in the right place I guess.
