On the Xbox One app when playing movies the movie will freeze after 30 seconds of play. I’m not sure what to do but would like to get this fixed so I can better enjoy this app on all my devices.
Do I have to have the premium pass to stream the full movie to my Xbox one? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both app and server. What do I need to do to get my server and app to communicate well with each other?
Ok I disabled remote access and my movies will play longer but it still freeze or loose communication with the server or will buffer. Is there some setting I need to adjust in the server or router?
Hi. Could you post some server logs with debugging enabled when the issue happens? It sounds like your computer is struggling to keep up.

That doesn’t look very good. What are you running your server on? Is the media stored on the same computer?
The media is stored on an external hard drive connected to the router.
The server is on my main computer running windows 10
Well the server is having trouble reading the file partway through, which could be for a variety of reasons. The external hard drive may have a flakey connection, or it may error out on streaming data for some reason. Or perhaps your router is dropping connections when reading a file from the external drive and streaming it over the network. I would test the external drive -> router -> main computer setup, the problem is somewhere in there and not the server or XB1 app.
I think I will move it to the main computer cause I was thinking the same. My computer is always on and the only reason I have it connected to the router is because The xbox one media player app. I will connect my external HD to my main computer and see what happens.
Moved the external HD to my computer USB and Plex works awesome. I will contact my router manufacture and see about a new one or if there is a fix for it.
Glad you got it sorted! Doesn’t sound like your external HD and router get along.
