@anon18523487 Will you please atleast respond to/achnowledge my previous comment and screenshots? The side-discussion isnt what this thread is about and it isnt the solution⦠the problem remains unadressed.
Iām waiting to hear back from someone with this or similar device. AFAIK, the playback windows should cover the entire image area ignoring the notch. We do that on iOS devices with the notch so it is the spec to do so.
Can you get me the log from the app after recreating this issue? Iād like to see what dimensions the app is identifying the screen as.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Making Blu-Ray rips āanamorphicā when transcoding to screens wider than 16:9
Hi
I have had my one plus 8 pro and I cannot get any video to fill the area weāre the camera is.
I watch a lot of films in say 2.39:1 like parts of Interstellar.
I had the same with my oneplus 6 now the 8 pro.
The hole point of having such a big screen is been able to push the film to the edge.
I would never push 16:9 to the outside edge only anamorphic.
Can anyone help?
Please provide the log from the app after recreating the issue.

Hi please see attached log
The issue is permanently there I am afraid I have no way of removing the camera black bar down the left side of the video.
What is strange when in the app browsing films and TV the entire screen is used then.
Hi please see above logs
Just got a OnePlus 8 yesterday and I have the same issue. Browsing the Plex App is all good; it covers the part of the area where the status bar would be. But the player seems to just not know that thereās a piece of screen up there. There are no bars embedded in the video and playing the video with a straight sftp link in VLC results in no black bar in the status bar area.
Edit: logs are here.zip (388.6 KB).
Hi

Thanks

Hi
From the log file can they see what is happening? Do they need more information?
Hi have they been able to see the problem?
Did they ever find a fix?
I have been a plex pass since they first started and from past experience they just go there own way and do not get to the bottom of peoples problems.
The development team do not look at specific problems like this they just ignore it.
They just hope you change devices regularly and forget about it.
Well thatās highly unprofessional BS if you ask me.
Disappointing that there is radio silence from Plex on this one. As far as I know using the notch area is not an impossible feature to implement that can be toggled on and off in an appās settings (I have other apps that have this exact toggle feature). Would make my viewing experience so much better.
