Hello,
I’m having troubles playing videos with eac3 audio encoding. On the web app the videos never start to play (constant buffering with no error message) and on the Android TV (Nvidia Shield) it starts to play if you fast forward a couple of seconds but freezes at one point and stays that way with no error message.
I have seen this topic a couple of times in this forum while I was searching for a solution and I have tried several methods mentioned in them the first one being deleting the codec folder and the second being changing the inotify table directories and none of these worked. Actually I haven’t tried the second method because my server is actually a seedbox and I have no permission to execute commands on the machine itself but I have contacted the technical support of the seedbox supplier (Its Dediseedbox if its relevant) and after a long discussion they convinced me that this is not the cause of the issue and told me to contact Plex Support. So here I am looking for solutions to my eac3 issue. Only information I have about the server is the screenshot of /etc/sysctl.conf which includes inotify max user watches equal to 262144. I have attached the log of the plex server acquired using the following steps:
- Restart Plex Server
- Wait 5 minutes
- Try to play the video with eac3 audio codec
- Stop playing
Playing was tested on the web app.
