Not sure if anyone else is aware, we have come across some films not being restricted in managed profiles. We have multiple profiles and on our younger kid profile (meant for pre-teen content) there is Return of the living dead 3 which is marked as 18 in the plex app. Clearly not something you want a younger child to watch.
My wife has emailed the legal team but thought I would post this here as well to warn others.
We have disabled this feature to be on the safe side.
Thanks for sharing. It appears this is happening with Not Rated movies – or are your kids seeing movies with an actual age raging above the applied restriction profile?
Age ratings above the setting younger/older kid which should (I think) go up to pg13 on the older kid profile.
The example above had an 18 age rating in plex there were also 15s and a x rated film
The Younger Kid profile should only allow access to a very limited set of movies/shows.
There are several preset profiles available:
- Younger Kid: allows TV-Y, G, TV-G, and other equivalent ratings
- Older Kid: allows all the ratings from the lower profile as well as TV-PG, PG, and other equivalent ratings
- Teen: allows all the ratings from the lower profiles as well as TV-13, PG-13, and equivalent ratings
- None: Can see all content ratings.
Yep, the film “ ek khiladi ek haseena” also shows up which is a 15 which is why I thought it may have come through as an unrated film.
Something plex needs to be aware of, not really sure if there’s any manual curation but looks like there needs to be an additional process in place.
