Watched/unwatched markers

I find it a little annoying that the watched/unwatched markers differ between the Samsung app and many of the other apps. It seems that in most other places, there is a yellow triangle over the top right corner of the image to show it is unwatched which goes away when it’s been watched…but in the Samsung app, there’s no market when an item is unwatched and a little green check mark when it is. Could this be made consistent with the other apps?

Windows client has been changed to the green check marks as well. I’d imagine they’re in the process of changing all the clients to this format, since the yellow corner triangle is the old representation. The only client that I use that still uses the yellow corner triangle is the web client. Are there other clients that you use that are still repping the yellow corner triangle?

Edit: Forgot that Android also has green check marks.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. The iOS client still uses the old style.

FWIW, I find the old style easier to see on a distant screen but sounds like that ship has sailed.

Yar, from what I’ve seen on the Plex sub-reddit, there are plenty of others who prefer the old style as well. Some have suggested putting an option in the settings to select the type of marker and/or toggle off the green check marks. We’ll see if they decide to implement something like that in the future.

I also doubt they will reverse course but you can give it a shot

The worst thing to me is when it’s inconsistent. In the android app TV layout, the home page now uses the green checkmarks (it just switched over in the last update) but the TV Shows and Movies tabs (in the same app!) still use the yellow triangles in the top right corner.

Another thread on the topic that was started back in Sept - Watched Checkmark VS Unwatched Orange Corner - and like JaysPlex says, not likely they’re going to reverse course. Plus there’s a UI\UX overhaul coming in the near future too.
