Watching OTA Live TV & DVR Could Be Treated As A DVR Scheduled Recording

Watching OTA Live TV from within “Live TV and DVR” (not Plex’s streamed Live TV) should be automatically treated as a special DVR schedule that would save to an Library called LiveTV, as a suggestion. There would also be a fixed or variable time limit before these Live TV viewings are automatically deleted. Maybe 24 hours. If you watched 30 minutes of an hour program, you could find that 30 minutes in the LiveTV Library until deleted or moved.

This could serve two purposes: One would allow a user to access the LiveTV Library and move a recently watched program to one of the users other Libraries for longer recording retention. The other reason would allow a user to decide to record a Live TV program that they are currently watching complete from the time they started watching the program (not from the time they selected to record the program).

As a note, I understand that the current Plex version of OTA Live TV is saving to the hard drive as we watch, but exiting out of Live TV seems to delete that recording file fairly quickly (minute(s) or less?) and if you select Record while watching Live TV, it seems to start a new file/directory. In my idea, selecting Record while watching a Live TV recording would simply move the current recording out of the LiveTV Library and into a regular Library with other DVR’d recordings.
