WD Mycloud Home Plex server not playing on Android clients

I have been running a plex server on a WD Mycloud Home for 3 months and have had no problems accessing my files via android clients on TV, tablet and phone. Two weeks ago I turned off my router for a few hours. Since then, I have been unable to access any files on any android client. I can access the files through the chrome interface but the file quality has depreciated considerably. I can access the Mycloud as normal through windows. Any help would be much appreciated.

We haven’t heard from them anymore. But I believe since your NAS is updated automatically once they get it sorted you will receive the update. Hopefully :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, Has there been any update on this from Western Digital? IF not are there any contact details for them so they can be chased. This seems to have been going on for so long without a solution

Thanks… I have posted on their forums and will keep an eye out for responses. Is there nothing more Plex can do to progress this? This is surely damaging your reputation as a media server solution and service levels with your customers. I don’t think its enough to say the problem lies with WD. We as individuals can complain to WD but surely Plex has more leverage to “encourage” WD to find a fix. If a fix isnt found soon, I’m sure many Plex customers will look to find alternatives media server solutions. I know, reluctantly, I will :pensive:

I don’t understand why Plex are happy that WD are still selling the WDMycloud Home with a claimed working Plex server. Surely it damages the reputation of Plex as well as WD when new customers discover that the Plex server doesn’t work ?

I guess they are not happy with that but the only one having its image damaged is WD. The real problem is that WD just don’t care about it.

Same problem here. Only way I could get it to work on android was to set the Secure Network setting to disabled on the server and the client.
