Several Server updates ago (end of October, beginning of November) my DVR functionality stopped working. It’s as if Plex no longer wants to work with my HD Homerun Duo (HDHR4-2US). Everything is up-to-date, the PR 2100 has the most current firmware, as does the HD Homerun, Server is up to date as is player.
After weeks of going round with Server, today I finally hit my limit, and did a complete nuke of Plex from the PR 2100, including all of the SSH steps to purge the databases and settings, etc… I restarted everything, reinstalled Plex, reconfigured it, waited for it to rescan the libraries, etc… once everything was back up to stable, I cold booted everything (including the router) again. At that point, I first tried to just watch live, which would fail out after several seconds of nothing. I then tried to record a program in-progress, which also failed out after several seconds of nothing. I then tried to schedule a program to record, and while I could successfully schedule it, when the timer hit there was several seconds of activity, followed by a return to doing nothing. A 0 Kb file appears in the proper sub-directory with the proper name, so all of that functionality is there, but there’s something going on with how Plex ingests the transport stream from the HDHR, I guess. HDHR logging shows that the channel gets properly called but then that the stream gets closed.
I can access the HDHR directly via VLC and live play any channel I wish, so the HDHR is doing what it is supposed to do and sending a stable Transport Stream out upon request.
I’m at a loss as to what’s going on. The last time this happened (this spring), a complete reset followed by a re-installation solved the issue and everything recorded fine for months. I keep current with the Server updates as they’re released and all was good, as I said earlier until late-October/early-November, when as soon as I installed 1973 the DVR was no longer functional. Sadly, I purged out the prior update files I had a few weeks prior to that, so there was no way to revert back further. Today’s 2058 update continues the broken tradition, as evidenced by the efforts documented above, and I’m at my wits end.
Logs are attached. Any help would be appreciated. There was a bunch of stuff I wanted to record this week and that’s all up in smoke, so I’m super frustrated.
