I have an older version of PMS and the other day my fire tv app and PlayStation app stopped working saying that “we couldn’t reach a media server”. So i read the forms and updated to the newest version of PMS. Now my fire tv and ps4 app works(sort of) but any external device that is not on my network is not able to run any of my media. My android app keeps telling me that it can’t convert anything(mp4 or mkv) and my fire tv and ps4 cannot convert mkv. I went back to my previous version because i can convert both mp4 and mkv without fail, but my fire tv and ps4 app is not working now. I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I either stay with my older version, but cannot play app on my fire tv or ps4 app, or I upgrade and can’t play mkv files nor can I play anything on my android app. Any suggestionson what i should do? This really bothers me because everything was working great till about a month or so ago and then a bunch of updates must have rolled out jacking everything up. Sounds more like plex is trying to force everyone off of the older PMS and slowly not supporting them. Which i can understand being a developer myself, but it does suck when everything is going great then all of the sudden stuff starts not working. Such a pain in the ass.
Logs are needed to figure out what’s happening. Make sure you are running the newest PMS version. Close the Plex Server, wait one minute, restart it, wait two minutes, then try to play a file on a client that give you an error. After the error happens, wait 30 seconds, then download the server logs and post them here along with the name of the file you tried to play.
Hopefully these are the correct logs. I was trying to open la la land and a home improvement episode 1 of season 1. If you want i can also give you my logs from my android app since that seems to play nothing at all since the update to the new app. Let me know if you need anything else from me please?
