I recently got a WD MyCloud to use with my Plex and I loved it!
A little while ago my MyCloud was offline and I received an email WD explaining that they had an issue and would be sending out and update to get everyone back online. I was able to access my MyCloud account, but it was not working with Plex. Plex didn’t seem to be able to connect to my WD.
I tried unplugging the MyCloud, still could access the drive but Plex could not. I tried removing MyCloud as the server on Plex and add it again… but I can’t seem to add it again on the Plex side…
Has anyone else had a similar situation/any solutions? Thanks
Yes I have the same problem. Oddly some devices do still connect to my server and I can access everything like I used to (for example via my web browser on my windows pc or my apple tv). But some devices just won’t connect correctly, although they clearly find the server in the network.
I already wrote WD regarding this topic but received no answer til now…
I’m generally frustrated with WD because they didn’t release an update for the plex server on MyCloud Home for over a year. I bought Plex Pass and can’t use any of the newer premium features… Hope they will fix the issue and supply a possibility to update the server manually.
