As of a couple of hours ago all of my plex apps (web, desktop/win, ios, appleTV, SamsungTV) tells me my NAS on WD Mycloud Home is offline. I can access my NAS from my desktop and my WD app on IOS and it is up and running (can play the files via the WD app).
I have searched this and other forums for a solution but came up empty handed. Logging out and in doesnt seem to fix it.
WD troubleshooting points to WD services in the WD discoveryapp where there should be a possibility to configure Plex. But the services/apps section on WD Discovery is gone and doesn’t look like the screendumps on WDs troubleshooting page.
Anyone has a similar problem? Might it be related to a glitch in the server versions? I know that WD Mycloud Home is a pain in the as when talking plex. The configuration possibilities are limited and manual installation is off limits.
Server Version#:1.16.3.1402-22929c8a2
Player Version#:WIn1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8 IOS:6.6 AppleTV:2.2
Apparently it had to do with the WD mycloud Home software. When it got updated the Plex app on the WD services got inactivated. Took some time to find it as you have to log in to the mycloud.com via a computer and then go into settings and find plex app. Activate it and then it should work again.
Took me quite a while and some grey hairs before solving it.
I have a similar problem and i don’t know how to solve it… Plex is crashing every 5 minutes or the movie stops for 30’ or more…
i have 1GB wi-fi. TV is connected via LAN , so is mycloud home and i access from the same network. SO it shouldn’t be a speed problem. I can watch on netflix 4k movies easily…
WD MyCLoud Home is the worst product ever made and sold without proper testing. The Plex software does not work at all, and having to access over internet locally makes it the slowest NAS.
