We were unable to load your plex home settings - Xbox

Same issues with several users on my server. Removing the pin worked for them, but they are not happy about opening their account up without a pin!

Coincidentally, this happened with the latest Plex update and the remote movie streaming option. Seriously I have my own media I don’t need this clogging up my users screens. Get rid of it devs. My user response has been negative towards the movie streaming option. Not to mention I have less control over what my kids watch.

I’d like to know who approves the releases without consulting with the subscriber base on if it’s something we’d use?? Kinda like throwing crap at a fan and hoping it will stick.

I’m having the exact same problem on my Samsung TV. A new version of the TV App was installed and now have this problem.
“We we’re unable to load your Plex home settings”.

Same issue. Xb1x using windows 10 server. What the heck?

I too have this problem on my Samsung TV, though using the client on my Windows 10 PC works fine. Removing the PIN code from the server as suggested above does fix the problem (though not ideal) for the TV.

Hopefully we will get an update soon.

Xbox one, and Samsung app having the same issue, all after new update. Can’t connect at all to my account.

Same issue on Samsung TV

Hi there,

Getting the same issue on Xbox One with Server Version 1.18.2.2058

Same issue with Samsung TV, When is Plex going to fix this, its really annoying.

I have the same on Samsung Smart TV now. Reinstall worked at first, but now that doesn’t help anymore. back to chromecast atm :S

I’m having the same issue with my Xbox one x. I have to re-install Plex each time I start my xbox else it crashes on “we were unable to load your plex home setting” and you can either select “continue as (username)” or “try again” and if I select either the app just crashes.

I also just started having this issue a few days ago

Same issue to me.

  • Samsung TV with latest update app (09/12/2019)
  • Plex Media Server 1.18.2.2058 on Windows 10 x64 Ultimate

Solution 1: disable pin for the admin user (but no more pin to log in!)

Solution 2 (the best!): create a new managed user with PIN. In this way when you start Plex app on the TV, no more error, the two user are show but each ask the pin to log in.

Solution 2 is only a workaround waiting an update of the app that solve the issue.

Thank you to everyone.
Luigi.

Is Plex aware of the situation? I have not seen an official statement with solution yet…

Great fix, especially solution 2.
… too bad PLEX doesn’t debug their updates prior to releasing them.

Thanks Bigio80. Nice solution #2!

The work around worked for me too (Samsung TV) but will wait news on getting fixed properly so that I can go back to the 4-digit pass-code sign-in ability…

I don’t think you understand Graham. Solution 2 keeps your pin security active. Not sure why adding a managed user fixes the problem, but all accounts work on my tv’s now WITH PINs
Thanks Bigio80 !!!
