On the android app and web app all of my library files say Inaccessible check that the drive is mounted
Presented with no error codes, the web app says server status is good, green check .
Remote access part has a ! but goes away when refreshed. Still nothing plays
It used to work, im not sure what exactly triggered this I havent diagnosed the exact issue yet.

oh ok it looks like the mointpoint for my ext hard drive containing my library changed somehow.
Trying to fix that now.
surprised Plex was faulty saying connected when it wasnt
maybe it just meant device to server but not the files
Weird, my external hard drive is completely invisible from the web app file browser to add folders… cant find it anywhere
i can find it from the local file browser but not from Plex
A status about your server being connected solely refers to the server being accessible – this doesn’t say anything about the availability of your files. If files are missing, this should be visible when you open that library or a movie’s details page.
If you cannot see the content of an external drive from within Plex, this is most likely an issue about permissions – this can happen if you’re mounting that drive without considering that Plex is using its own service account on your system. If that service account doesn’t have permission to see your media files, you won’t be able to see them inside Plex.
yes due to the mountpoint being changed a permissions error was what followed. Fortunately solved it, was a little bit of a shot in the dark but it worked.

but while im here i just want to say plex really really could use more guides made for new users of all walks because there are so many different ways to use the service its overwhelming learning to get started. i knew about plex for many years not using it at first really because I didnt understand how much use it would have provided for me.
Im doing what i can to share my server w as many as i can also obv teaching people how to use the service as i go

Ok another problem causing same issue this time i know what it is , when my Manjaro desktop (server host) goes into “screen lock” mode after inactivity, my plex server goes down too!
surely theres a way to stop this??
