Recently (within the past month), TV shows and movies are frequently initially reading as 15 minutes in duration. The player treats the 15-minute mark like the end of the episode or film, either terminating playback or continuing autoplay to the next episode, as would normally occur.
Canceling the autoplay and returning to the episode in question, it will play normally with the correct duration, though it has to be manually re-advanced to the 15-minute mark. If you notice the incorrect duration early enough and close out the episode, you can also return and it will be fixed.
This doesn’t happen every time, but I haven’t yet seen a pattern to when it occurs. I’ve definitely seen it happen in the web client; I can’t remember if it’s happened in the PS3 client at all.
