I’ve the problem, that any episode from any series are 2:00:00 hours long. But the episodes are just 20 or 22 minutes long. So I guess, that this is a bug in the web player. This is since the latest version 1.14.1.5488. Before this update, it was just a couple of times. Now it is every time.
I have the same problem, I have performed clean uninstall (remove %localappdata% for Plex Media Server) but the problem still persist. Playing a 3 hours movie, will cut it down to 2 hours, making this issue really severe.
Same here, for example on ITV app every 20 minute episode shows a duration of 2:00:00. Has been the last few weeks.
Do you happen to use rclone in your setup?
No I don’t know what that is
Has everyone else just been dealing with this issue waiting on a fix? Been dealing with this for weeks and I’m pretty much fed up with trying to fix it. Happens with every file on the web player and on the Android app. Sneaking suspicion it’s a transcoder issue but why after months of it working fine does it break? Everyone here using a Windows based PMS server?
I’ve been having the same problem for months. 90% of the TV episodes I watch have a duration of 2:00:00 even though they’re actually ~22 minutes long. I’ve been looking around for a solution but I haven’t found one yet.
I’m experiencing this, too. Usually it fixes it if I close the video and start playback again, but it happens at least once a day, I’d reckon.
Is anyone still having this problem? It’s been a recurring issue for me for months.
I’ve been having this issue for probably 6 months now.
I don’t know why the plex team chooses to set some files at 2 hours in length as some sort of default when plex fails, but its pretty frustrating to have to deal with it almost daily. It happens to me when autoplay is enabled and it is the first episode in the queue. As soon as I skip forward or back a file and return to the ‘2 hour’ file, it displays the correct time for it.
Edit: forgot to mention, but when the file goes past its actual duration (like 22 minutes), plex freezes and displays the buffering animation until I manually skip forward or back…
I had this happen to me right after migrating everything over to a new Mac mini from an old one. It never did this prior to the migration three weeks ago.
I also have the same 2 hour limit when playing a tv show that is only 40 minutes. Or a movie over two hours.
This also happens on any device I play it on after a few hours. Like Apple TV, issue happens. Wait three or four hours, then iPhone, same issue.
How is there still no answer on this issue? I never had this before and it just started and there are no answers anywhere.
im having this issue now… cant watch the new avengers endgame because its 3 hours long and it stops after 2. what is going on??? this has been happening but i didnt watch anything that was more than 2 hours long til today. i tried letting the movie get in them middle so i can stop and start it hoping that it would let me watch the last 2 hours. no. it just puts me back where i was and it stops at 2 hours in to the movie.
firefox doesnt give me this problem. chrome does.
I had this issue with some episodes and I don’t use Chrome, I was using Samsung TV ap, it hasn’t happened since I switched to Kodi with Plex plugging, I do have a friend who is having this problem on my server and he can’t watch Endgame past 2 hours, he has tried chrome but also the Xbox one app and that does it too so it’s not restricted to a browser, surprised this hasn’t been sorted?
It will never be sorted if no one bothers to provide logs.
I just found an answer on another site that says 2hrs the default transcoder time for content it cant get the info from, it says it can be altered in settings but I dont have this setting on my server, im guessing it was removed to fix the problem, Transcoder default duration is not there.
I dont have this issue anymore so @dirtyjobs can you post your logs? could help us all out.
Yeah. tell me which logs you want
Last time I posted logs i think i posted the lot in a zip file, maybe someone who knows whats what can say if thats what you need to do?
