Since the last update, when Plex Web got updated, searching in sub categories (i.e. Movies & TV Shows) does not work any longer. The searching is always performed over all categories.
Running on Linux. Browser used is Chromium.
They’ve moved the category selection to the ‘More results’ page. Enter your search term, then click the ‘View More Results’ button.
Then you can select categories from the top:
Not sure which is better, but that’s the change they made.
Then, what is the dropdown (see pic) menu for? If not to limit the search in the first place.
Which worked perfectly until now.
Now I select a category from the dropdown menu and it’s not selected…
You must be working with the local build of Plex Web. The hosted version, which is usually newer, no longer has that dropdown.
I see the behavior you’re seeing when I use the local build. I don’t imagine they’ll fix it, since it will be going away.
