Hi I think the recent release of Web Shows and Movies & Shows online is a great feature.
I understand that advertising is a necessity for such a service, but what I’m finding is that the adverts are often plagued with play-back interruptions which put me off watching the show - a 1 minute advert may end up taking 2 minutes to run due to extended pauses - it drives me crazy and puts me off using the service altogether.
Another thing is that the you are putting up are self-promotion which is a classic case of preaching to the converted. I figure you are using these Plex ads as placeholders for real ads once you get them up and running, and you want us to be used to having ads right from the start, rather than introducing them later and getting howls of protest when you do.
Perhaps you could have some handy hints and showcase the Plex-Plus features as some of your adverts. All I ask is that you set things up so these ads run sweet.
This sounds like my issue. I posted mine just before yours, “Commercials streaming at to high of resolution…”.
What is your Internet connection’s minimum bandwidth?
Sad to here you Internet connection is causing extended buffering, want sort of connection are you using, WiFi or Ethernet?
I’m on a 25Mbps internet connection with 1Gbps Ethernet between Router and Shield. The programs themselves run sweet, but the adverts are when things get jerky, so I don’t think that the issue is at my end. I figure it might be that the server that feeds the adverts or the switching between adverts and programs that might be an issue.
Or maybe its a problem with the Bandwidth/Resolution of the Adverts as suggested by @AncientTom.
