Web UI setting nav menu

Server Version#: 1.13.9.5456

Hello there hive. I have noticed that my settings menu (left nav bar) is always expanded anytime I go into the settings menu. I have tried it on several different computers, all the same. I don’t remember what patch this started happening, but I don’t recall this being a “feature” in any of the release notes and it’s driving me mad. Any idea how to get the list items to be collapsed again?

Thanks,
Drew

There is currently no way to collapse the settings.

Along these lines, I can’t remember after which update it occured, but where is the location of the PMS database? It used to be in C:\ Users\username\app data\local\Plex Media Server. I looked today and it’s not there. I want to backup database just in case anything goes south. Does anyone know where I should look? It’s on Windows 10 machine.

This is still the default location.
If you can’t find it there, it means either:

  • You can’t find the users folder, because it is ‘hidden’.
  • you have moved the data folder to a different place. Which one that is, is contained under Settings - Server - General - ‘Show Advanced’ - “the path where local application…”
  • Plex Server is running under a different Windows user account and therefore you must look in a different user name’s folder under C:\Users\...

Thanks Otto: Everything but the last I’ve tried.Im going to reboot the machine. Users is visible, and I’m the only user and that is where I’ve copied the db before. I’ll check around some more.

Hey Otto: Well I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find the PMS db. I’ve checked all hidden switches and all are as they should be. They are not set to be hidden, and I have admin rights so if they were in under another user I would be able to see it. How could this be and have PMS still operate normally?
Any other ideas? of thoughts?

Thanks much,

Take a look into the registry
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/
If the key LocalAppDataPath exists, it will contain the location of the data folder.

If it doesn’t, the appdata are at the default location.
