I have tested wi-fi connectivity for the above TV (AVG 120 Mb/s according to Fast.com), have confirmed smooth TV playback using the LG WebOS Photo / Video app (when receiving from my HDHomeRun Quatro), but constantly am buffering Live TV playback when using the above LG Plex client and connecting to my Synology DS718. The NAS is connected to my quatro to provide live tv and dvr capability through a 1 Gb/s switch.
When checking the dashboard, Plex reports that video for the LG TV plex client is being transcoded (HW) to H264 and audio is direct stream. I believe LG WebOS supports MPEG2, and this should be direct play, not transcoded.
I’ve seen various reports of LG webos / transcoding issues, but haven’t identified any related to HDHomeRun and live TV. Could you please confirm if this is an issue and when it will be addressed?
