I use Plex Meta Manager (they think it’s a Plex issue so here I am).
In my automated collections, like trending or popular, on the web UI or Apple TV, when I go to the collection I get my nice curated list. If I click a movie all is well. If I go back to the list, on the web ui the movie gets moved to the end of the list, on the Apple TV it’s even worse, it gets replaced and then it’s a game of memory to find it again as it’s hidden somewhere else in the list of 10/20/30/40. I am on beta builds, but wondering if anyone else has experience with this, it’s clearly a refresh thing going on.
Ohh, I saw your vid (kept popping into this article every other day to see if there was a fix). I don’t use (or even heard of) PMM. Interesting. So the collection order gets randomized every time it loads the list again. I wonder if PMM makes a list without a sort order, so players just lists the collection in random order. Some clients may refresh the list every single time they go to the list, while some clients (iOS, and I suspect Android mobile) probably cache the data locally and do NOT re-request the list. Thus, the sort order APPEARS to stay fixed on iPhone.
If you load the list on iPhone, then close the app (kill it by double-tapping home and dismissing the app), does the list appear in the same order when you load it up and look at the list again? If my theory is correct, then it should be random again.
