So I recently discovered that you have ratings from IMDB or RottenTomatoes in plex and while including this on my library I noticed some weirdness I’m hoping some of you techi folks might be able to help answer… I’ll use the IMDB agent as my example here but same can be said for RottenTomatoes
- lets take Batman Ninja as an example. If you look on IMDB (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7451284/) this has a rating of 5.9. However, after the agent does its download/sync its reported on my plex server as having an IMDB rating of 9.4. Why ? Does the agent not look up IMDB and pull the metadata from there or does the agent actually pull the data from somewhere else which is synch’ed over time? I’ve tried refreshing and even unmatching and rematching again.
- Looking at this thread (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/255535/small-percentage-of-files-will-not-pull-imdb-metadata/) it appears a small portion of movies won’t pull the data due to movie vrs video clasification with IMDB. Mmmm, okay but then why do the same movies not pull data from RottenTomatoes if that is switched to ? If the limitation is on IMDB why does it effect RottenTomatoes?
- coming back to point 2 again - is there a way to query IMDB itself to list the movies that plex may have a issue with ?
