When the new forums were rolled out, one major change was the unification of our Plex IDs with our forum name. Previously, I was able to keep these two separate and distinct. Since the change, we are forced to combine them.
While people were complaining about this change, I recall there was some dev discussion around Plex giving us the ability to customize the display name on our Plex accounts. Has this been abandoned? I really don’t want to have my real name as my forum name, but I also don’t really want my forum name to be what is displayed on all of my Plex clients either. Is there no happy medium?
I have been asking about this for a couple of years now. Last thing I heard is from this guy who said “We’ll be allowing this for regular users, as we do for managed users right now.” but if I was a betting man I would say another couple of years will pass before it actually happens if ever.
I’m still waiting for this to be implemented… My kids keeps on asking me… “Who’s Cylac, daddy?” when they load plex on our devices lol

They said they were looking to add it but that was almost a year ago.
New to Plex Pass and I’m already pissed off… about many things…
So Dev, what about an official statement? What happened with this topic? Current Process? ETA for Update?
Now that forum name is separate why can’t you implement a way to use a different name for your home account? My real name is already taken and I would like to use it.
