Ok nevermind - I believe that when all this started years ago, the forum was separate from the actual plex account. Seems they’re merged now.

Your forum username is the same as your Plex account username, so if you create a Plex username that is an email address, that carries over to the forum. You can change your Plex username in the account settings to make it different than your email address.
